6" Daruma Doll

The Daruma doll is a likeness of the Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism, and depicts his strength of spirit by always staying upright despite having no limbs. The hand-painted papier mache doll is traditionally purchased at the start of a new endeavor.  The left eye is painted in first, and the right eye is filled in when the goal is met, hopefully within the year.  (An explanation sheet is included with every daruma purchase.)
